Twice in the past year, oil prices have spiked in response to geopolitical tensions in the Middle East. In 2025, following the start of the war between the US, Israel and Iran, prices surged from $60 per barrel to $109 in early April.
Now, prices have retreated somewhat, but remain elevated. This volatility creates opportunities to invest in high-yield energy dividend stocks.
Consider Enterprise Products Partners (EPD) and Enbridge (ENB), two midstream companies that own and operate extensive networks of pipelines, refineries and storage facilities across North America.
Enterprise, a master limited partnership, distributes a 5.75% yield and has raised its annual distribution for 29 consecutive years. It saw record volumes in 2025 and boasts a stable debt-to-equity ratio of 1.14.
Enbridge, a normal dividend-paying corporation, yields 5.25%. It has grown its dividend for 30 years straight and, despite a relatively high payout ratio of 117%, has targets to pay out 60%-70% of distributable cash flow to shareholders.
Both companies are well-positioned to capitalize on the energy market's fluctuations, making them attractive investments as the situation in the Persian Gulf continues to unfold.
